You can access it from:
Through this portal, you will be able to:
Create a new set of rules.
Assign the rule set to one or multiple groups.
Edit the name and add a description to the rule set.
Edit the rule set.
Delete the rule set.
Note: To access this panel, you must have subscribed to WorkMeter's project management product and be an account administrator or have been granted permissions by the administrator.
In the project rules configuration panel, you can create a new rule set or edit an existing one.
When creating a new rule set, you will only need to define its name and description. Once created, you can edit and configure the rules as needed.
In this window, by clicking add rule or modifying the settings of existing rules, you can define which condition will be evaluated, how it will be assessed, what value it will be compared against, and the action to be performed.
Following the "IF..." label, you can choose the type of rule you want to configure.
Rules can be categorized into two groups:
Content Detection: These rules can check the name of an application, window title, URL, etc.
Context Detection: These rules can verify the physical location or the time when an action is performed.
These rules respond based on detected content and include the following:
Window Title: Evaluates the title of an application or window.
Application name: Checks the name of the application.
File name or URL: Compares against the file name or browser URL (2).
Folder or file path: Refers to the location (container) of the file.
URL: Web address.
Any field: Any of the previously mentioned concepts.
(2) Folder or file detection is only possible in applications that allow it, such as the Office suite (Excel or Word).
Generic rule:There is a special configuration to define a generic rule that detects the project most similar to the detected content.
To activate it, you must enter the asterisk symbol (*) in the content field you wish to detect.
Next, select "Detect project", and automatically, when opening content with a name similar to the selected project, time tracking for that project will begin.
The rules in the second group (Context detection) that respond based on context are as follows:
Time: Evaluates the time of day (in hh:mm format).
Day of the week number: Checks the day of the week (from 1 to 7).
Network name: Detects the name of the Wi-Fi network being used.
The "Then..." rules can trigger different actions in the log:
Set project: Assigns the work to the project specified in the field.
Stop/Restart work timer.
Enable/Disable inactivity.
Detect project.
Set default project.
Set default inactivity.
Show/Enable/Disable notifications.
Text-to-Speech: A voice notification will announce the project change.
Rules can be prioritized and will be processed in the order they appear. A rule can be configured to stop evaluating subsequent rules once it is met.
These actions can be performed using the following buttons:
Move to start
Move to end
Move up
Move down
Delete rule
Note: If you define a rule that stops the activity logging of the WorkMeter engine (action "Stop WorkMeter"), none of the content detection rules (Group 1) will function until another context detection rule (Group 2) reactivates the WorkMeter engine logging (action "Restart WorkMeter").
